DP World Tour Season Review

My travels on tour this year are finished and with a chance to reflect on some of the highlights, it gives me appreciation for opportunities and sunshine but also the impact conversations on equipment changes can have on the shape of the season.

The biggest highlight has been the driver change Joakim Lagergren has made following a fitting at The Soudal Open in Belgium. The conversation focused on increasing spin to improve accuracy and results quickly followed with a second place finish at the KLM Open in Amsterdam.

Since May his scoring and performances have led to a career high world ranking and a narrow loss to Rory McIlroy at the Irish Open and what hopefully will be a PGA Tour card following the race to Dubai.

Very often little things make a huge difference to scoring stats. We often overlook spin in the quest for distance with longer driver lengths, promoting faster ball speeds but when the best guys in the look for reliability and predictability from their drivers, we should too.
